Just south of Naples is one of the last untouched mangrove estuaries in North America. Rookery Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve is a living laboratory spanning 110,000 acres, sheltering dolphins, manatees, sea turtles and hundreds of species of birds. Visitors can kayak through calm backwaters and explore interactive exhibits at the Environmental Learning Center or guided eco-tours. The Environmental Learning Center has a robust offering of classes and activities for all ages.
